Woodcraft Worker

Essential Job Functions

1. Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work.
2. Use knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, and equipment as well as basic warehouse procedures to package items for storage.
3. Complete manual and computerized forms and shipping documents regarding stock description, units of issue, weight, quantity, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials and equipment.
4. Check work orders (packing, shipping, and storage documents) to determine the number and type of items to be packed, and to ensure that the items received packing match those described in the documents.
5. Utilize e-mails for workload tasks and teammate information.
6. Communicate in a positive manner with all areas and levels of the Distribution Center.
7. Follows established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Technical Manuals such as (MIL-STD-2073, MIL-STD-129P).
8. Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
9. Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
10. Other duties assigned in association with locally established warehouse management plan & workload

Marginal Job Functions

1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
2. Fluent in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
3. Possess basic math and measurement skills.
4. Ability to lift up to 45 pounds in full motion frequently.
5. Ability to work on hard surfaces in areas that require frequent standing, stooping, and bending 6. Ability to work in areas that are sometimes dusty, dirty, and greasy.
6. Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
7. Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other MHE.
8. Strong verbal and written communication
9. Demonstrate expertise to complete tasks assigned within functional area of responsibility
10. Computer literate on desktop computer operating system (Microsoft Office) and Warehouse Management System is a plus.

Advanced Skills

• Ability to operate a variety of tools
• Experience using warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and handcarts
• Knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines and practices

Working Conditions:

Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of protective wear and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions. Hand trucks, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Including, but not limited to, standing, squatting, lifting (up to 50 pounds); carrying, walking; pushing and pulling
• Including, but not limited to, sitting and driving a forklift
• Including, but not limited to, problem-solving, decision-making, data interpretation, organization; reading and writing

Qualifications

• Ability to pass a background investigation to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

• One (1) year Wood working tools Ie: saws, drills, nail guns experience in a work setting.

Skills:

• Must be U.S. Citizen and possess a valid Driver's License
• Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively, to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to operate a computer terminal, bar code and document scanners
• Experience with Hazardous Materiel Storage and Shipments
• Military or DLA experience preferable
