Warehouse Specialist I - Fort Gordon

Under direct supervision, performs clerical and physical tasks to include receiving, storing, selecting and shipping bulk and bin materials and equipment.  Coordinates incoming and outgoing shipments and placement of materials within docking areas. Performs routine tasks following established guidelines.

Duties:

• Verifies orders are accurately filled by comparing items and quantities of goods for shipment against documents. Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles.  Prepares and maintains records of items shipped.
• Verifies correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records. Checks for damaged goods and prepares discrepancy reports for all depot and/or vendor shortages, overages, and damages.  Prepares and maintains records of goods received.
• Opens various containers with appropriate hand tools. Ensures items are correctly identified for routing to designated destination.
• Reads a variety of documents to include work and/or shipping orders, and requisitions. Moves items from receiving or storage areas to other designated areas by hand or materialmoving equipment.
• Upon receipt of requests, accurately picks, packs, pulls, equipment and/or materials for issue, turn in, and/or shipment to appropriate activities on prescribed documentation.
• May use technical publications to identify material. Determines condition of non-mechanical material.  Performs inventory and maintains records.
• May be required to load and unload truck.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
