Warehouse Specialist

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years' experience as a warehouse specialist or similar in a warehousing and storage environment
• Proficient working knowledge with DPAS and Navy ERP or equivalent and Microsoft Office suite

Description: As directed, the Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Work involves the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials IAW prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. This worker may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.

Duties may include verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damage; routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials IAW prescribed storage methods; rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage; printing Navy ERP labels and applying to material; removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment, and recording transactions into Navy ERP.

The Warehouse Specialist shall be required to operate a light truck (Straight truck, less than 1 1/2 tons, usually 4 wheels), passenger vehicle and manually controlled forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds on base and about a storage facility.

Requirements:

• Security Clearance (Secret)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
• Forklift certification (up to 36,000 pounds)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
