Unit Movement Coordinator - Fort Gordon

Under general supervision, coordinates unit movements, process convoy clearances, coordinate airlifts, prepare airlift load plans and certify hazardous material (HAZMAT) originating from the installation. Receives, validates, and coordinates the movement plans of assigned / supported active and reserve Army units.  Assists units in preparing, maintaining, and executing unit movement plans.  Submit requests for chartered planes.

Duties:

• Prepare HAZMAT in accordance with the Federal Regulation (CFR). Certify all HAZMAT originating from the installation.  Check HAZMAT paperwork for accuracy.
• Serves as a transportation planner responsible for coordinating unit moves, processes unit move data, instruct Unit Movement Officers (UMO) on collecting (UMD) unit movement data. Publishes policies and procedures for UMD reporting and Letter of Instructions (LOI) guidance for units.  Train Unit Load Teams.
• Recognizes complex movement requests and determines best solution. Ensure all equipment is properly marked, weighed, and observe aircraft load/unload.  Brief crew members on number of passengers, weights, baggage, cargo, and HAZMAT.  Prepares and transmits unit movement reports.  Reviews, edits and validates reports.
• Advises units in importance of current and accurate movement plans and UMD. Outlines procedures to include training support transmission of data to FORSCOM and higher headquarters.
• Coordinate with airport Operations Manager on all military/chartered airplanes arriving/departing the local airport. Prepare passenger and cargo manifests and submit to Scott AFB.  Prepare and certify airlift load plans.
• Maintains a current control system for all units required to submit reports in accordance with FORSCOM Reg 55-1. Staffs the Movement Control Center (MCC) in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).  Maintains 463L Pallets, conducts physical inventory, submit reports.  May be required to operate 4k and 6k capacity forklift.
• Utilizes multiple deployment support automated systems to facilitate movement of all kinds.
• Manage and prepare Radio Frequency (RF) tags and issue to units for deploying equipment. Calculate and mark center of balance (CB) for vehicles and equipment.  Mark CB, axle, and gross weights in the proper location for all equipment.
• Inspect Intermodal Dry Cargo containers for serviceability.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
