Tailor - CSP - Kaneohe Bay

This position fits, marks, alter and repair clothing, takes measurements from or fits garment to customer to determine type and extent of cutting required, and marks garment accordingly.

Duties

• Insert or eliminate padding in shoulders.
• Taper seams without distorting the drape and proportions of the garment.
• Re-sew garment using needle and thread or sewing machine.
• Repair or replace defective garment parts such as snaps, zippers, buttons, buckles, pockets, pocket flaps and coat linings.
• Shorten or lengthen sleeves or legs, expands or narrows waist and chest, raises or lowers collar, and sets sleeves to armholes.
• Maintain adequate stock of supplies, equipment and working area.
• May supervise activities of sewing machine operator or other related workers.
• Additional related duties as assigned or required within scope.

Requirements - Successful candidates must possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous tailoring and alterations experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
