Supply and Services Manager - Fort Gordon

Job Summary: Provide for the overall management, supervision and direction of Installation Supply in support of the Logistics Readiness Center's mission at Fort Gordon, Georgia.  The Supply and Services Manager is responsible for all supply and service operations under this effort and must have at least 10 years of supervisory experience and a comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, and procedures. The Supply and Services Manager must have a comprehensive knowledge of the installation's supply and services Supply Support Activity, Property Accountability, Central Issue Facility, Hazardous Material Management, Ammunition Supply Point, Subsistence Supply Management Office operations and equipment management processes, related regulations and is required to ensure effective accountability of all assigned property. The Supply and Services manager is required to have a Secret clearance due to possibility of the functional areas receiving classified material in the Supply Support Activity and CIF RFI requirements for Deploying Units. Additionally, the Supply and Services Manger must have intricate knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements. The Supply and Services Manager must possess operational skills and knowledge of the automated supply and service systems utilized. The Supply and Services Manager must possess the appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, and prepare reports, plans, and working instructions. All MFG missions are centered on TPFDD planning and mobilization sequences.

           

Essential Functions:

  1. Coordinate with U.S. Army elements and participate in planning sessions and conferences with U.S. Army counterparts. Provide advice, opinions, recommendations, ideas, reports, analyses, suggested changes to contract terms and conditions or other work products that enhances mission accomplishment and contract performance.
  2. Formulate and implement work plans, procedures and processes to ensure cost effective and successful accomplishment of specific contract terms and conditions, company policies and ISO standards.
  3. Establish and maintain a complete quality control program for assigned area of responsibility that assures the requirements of the contract are provided as specified. Develop and monitor metrics to measure and evaluate the degree of successful performance.
  4. Establish and maintain adequate physical security to prevent unauthorized access, vandalism, pilferage, larceny, sabotage, and fire; and to provide internal safeguards for the security of all assigned Government-owned, Government-furnished and Company owned property, supplies and equipment.
  5. Develop methodology, format, and structure required to furnish workload data reflecting all work accomplished under the assigned area of responsibility.
  6. Provide staffing and non-labor cost input for annual cost proposals, contract change proposals and changes to specific contract terms and conditions.
  7. Support and maintain current ISO standards for assigned area of responsibility.
  8. Evaluate and direct progress toward affirmative action and equal opportunity goals within the organization.
  9. Ensure timely, accurate submission of section Contract Deliverables (CDRLs).

 

Marginal Functions:

  1. Performs other related duties as required.
  2. Must be committed to providing quality customer service.
  3. Develops training program and implements changes and directives as they occur.

 

Education: 

  • Bachelor degree in logistics, business or related field.
  • Two years of additional supervisory experience US Army Supply/Logistics Management field is accepted as a substitution for each year of education.
  • Successful completion of applicable U.S. Army Supply/Logistics Management training courses desired

 

Experience: 

  • Ten years of related management/supervisory experience.
  • Additional three years of direct supply and services related experience desired

 

Skills: 

  • Must be technically proficient and knowledgeable in all assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Must have a proven management record and demonstrate proficient use of personal computer software and information technology/electronic communication services.
  • Have intricate knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis to recommend improvements.
  • Possess appropriate verbal and written communications skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, and prepare reports, plans, and work instructions.

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations/Etc.

  • Must possess a SECRET Clearance due to possibility of functional areas receiving classified material in the SSA and CIF for Deploying Units.

 

GENERAL SUPERVISORY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

There are a number of duties and responsibilities that are common to most personnel in a supervisory position, such as:

  1. Plan and schedule the work of a section, department or organization for maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment and material within budgetary, cost and quality standards.
  1. Estimate manpower requirements. Requisition and select qualified employees necessary to perform work.
  1. Assign employees to jobs. Instruct them in proper performance of work and familiarizes them with company rules and regulations.
  1. Maintain discipline of employees under their supervision in accordance with established rules and regulations. Initiate appropriate disciplinary action.
  1. Assume responsibility for the proper application of established employee relations, wage and salary policies, safety and health regulations.
  1. Initiates action and recommends promotions, merit increases, transfers, leaves of absence and other personnel changes.
  1. Coordinate the functions performed under his/her supervision with those performed under other supervision.
  1. Arranges for proper maintenance of machines, equipment and facilities for which the work unit is responsible.
  1. Prepares reports concerning department budget and activities.
