Small Arms Technician

Requirements: 

  • A High School diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years related experience in the administration and execution of Small Arms Ground Ordnance maintenance is required.
  • Department of Defense Secret clearance is required. Applicant selected will be subject to a government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or facilities.
  • Be a certified Gunsmith when required. 
  • Successfully pass a screening test using the AA&E Screening Package per Marine Corps Order (MCO) 5530.14A, Marine Corps Physical Security Program and MCO 8023.3B, Personnel Qualification and Certification Program for Class V Ammunition Explosives.
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be able to acquire a government driver's license for both tactical and non-tactical equipment.
  • Certified to transport AA&E.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

 

Qualifications:

  • Possess a working knowledge of the following AIS systems; Global Combat Support Systems- Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), Special Operations Force Sustainment Asset Visibility and Information Exchange (SSAVIE).
  • Capable of working several tasks with simultaneous, or near simultaneous deadlines to meet established standards for performance.
  • Reliable, punctual, trustworthy and exceptionally conscientious. Must be team oriented and have the ability to positively interact with diverse groups of people to achieve common objectives.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
  • Perform inspection, maintenance, fabrication and repair of precision small arms and optics to include vehicular mounted small arms.
  • Perform inspection of materiel to determine serviceability and need for repair or destruction.
  • Perform integrated and timely logistics support and sustainment for MARSOC personnel.
  • Participate with members of MARSOC to ensure duties associated with maintenance of optics, small arms/vehicular mounted small arms are executed as required and in accordance with Marine Corps/organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accountability of Marine Corps assets are in accordance with established procedures and meet all arms reporting requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.
