Small Arms Repairer - Fort Gordon

Under general supervision, inspects, maintains and repairs all types of small arms up to and including 75MM M120 Salute Cannon.  Determines general condition of the weapons, the nature of the malfunction, and repairs as required to ensure proper tolerances and function. 

• Performs direct support-level and general support-level field and shop maintenance on small arms weapons up to and including 75MM M120 salute cannon.
• Tests, recondition, troubleshoot and repair all assigned small arms including fully automatic machine guns and related equipment
• Uses technical manuals, parts lists, Modification Work Orders, Maintenance Bulletins, TACOM Messages etc. to determine trouble.  Repairs or replaces defective parts as directed.
• Performs operational checks by using technical manuals and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinates with and advises lead repairer on maintenance status, equipment requirements, problem areas and corrective action.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
