Site Manager - DLA Hill, UT

Job Summary

The Site Manager (SM) has full authority to act for Contractor on all matters of Contract Performance. The SM is responsible for assuring that all elements of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution Hill, Utah contract are executed in accordance with contract requirements and provides value by organizing and coordinating facility start-ups following detailed specifications set forth by the customer and contractor. The SM serves as the primary point of contact to the government Logistics Management Specialist (LMS)/Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and ACOR and exercises full decision-making authority for the DLA Distribution site activities.


Essential Functions:

  • Possess and apply the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and successfully complete the work
  • Provides overall supervision for the Contractor employees to include, but not limited to:
    • Planning and managing the contract professionally
    • Coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources
    • Ensuring that accurate and timely reports are provided
    • Effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered
    • Execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost.
  • Provides overall management coordination and serves as the central point of contact (POC) with the Government for all work under the contract
  • Problem solving, decision making, data interpretation, and organization
  • Coordinate and work with other managers to ensure functions between departments operate efficiently and smoothly.
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  • Research, analyze and implement methods of increasing productivity, including efficient space utilization and mechanical devices.
  • Manage and meet contractual and Company performance requirements. Provide timely and accurate records and reports as required.
  • Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
  • Practices physical security and commitment to safety practices

Qualifications

Experience:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of management experience in distribution management, OR
  • At least ten (10) years of manage experience in distribution operations similar in size and complexity to the operation offered in this contract
  • Three (3) years' experience using automated warehouse management systems within the past five (5) years

Skills:

  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent supervisory, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all management, and non-management levels of contractor and customer (government contacts)
  • Convey ideas and work techniques through excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Fluent speaking, writing, and reading in English

Certificate, License, Registration, etc.:

  • S. Citizen
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Required to obtain a Secret security clearance or higher and/or a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)

Education

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Distribution Management, Business Management, or Business Administration

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any relevant certifications (project management, inventory management, supply chain management, etc.)
  • Military Experience
  • Current and relevant experience as a Site Manager
