About the Position

The Site Manager shall act for the Contractor on all matters of Contract Performance.

The Site Manager (SM) is responsible for assuring that all elements of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Distribution Cherry Point contract are executed in accordance with contract requirements and provides value by organizing and coordinating facility start-ups following detailed specifications set forth by the customer and contractor. The SM serves as the primary point of contact to the government Logistics Management Specialist (LMS)/Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and ACOR and exercises full decision-making authority for the DLA Distribution site activities.

Responsibilities

  • Possess and apply the knowledge and skills required to plan, control, manage, and successfully complete the work
  • Provides overall supervision for the Contractor employees to include, but not limited to, planning and managing the contract professionally; coaching and mentoring supervisors and leads ensuring that work is scheduled properly to obtain maximum use of resources; ensuring that accurate and timely reports are provided; effective supervision to prevent inefficient or wasteful methods in the performance of services ordered; and execute cost saving factors and quality controls to ensure work is performed as scheduled and at a fair and reasonable cost.
  • Provides overall management coordination and serves as the central point of contact (POC) with the Government for all work under the contract
  • Problem solving, decision making, data interpretation, and organization
  • Practices physical security and commitment to safety practices

Prerequisites

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Distribution Management, Business Management, or Business Administration and a minimum five years' experience in Distribution Management (or)
  • A minimum of ten years' management experience in distribution operations similar in size and complexity to the operation offered in this contract
  • Three years' experience using automated warehouse management systems within the past five years
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Fluent speaking, writing, and reading in English
  • Proven track record of successful government contracting experience
  • Excellent supervisory, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all management, and non-management levels of contractor and customer (government contacts)
  • Convey ideas and work techniques through excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
