MAGTF Planner Specialist

The Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) is a task organized unit consisting of elements from the Marine division, Marine aircraft wing, and the Marine force service support group formed into an air-ground-logistics team under one commander. In a MAGTF operation, each MAGTF is task organized according to the mission as a self-contained unit that has the necessary logistic support to sustain itself for varying periods of time.  This position assists in the planning of each mission and the preparation of supplies needed for each mission's completion.

 Duties

• Plan and coordinate movement of major end items and associated materials globally using full FDP&E procedures or standard Marine Corps/Navy transportation procedures as appropriate.
• Provide updated status reports on cargo from planning to delivery.
• Plan, construct, and input all required JOPES transactions for Time Phased Force Deployment Data preparation and execution on a timely basis.
• Process all cargo to ensure compliance with both theater and DOD requirements to include the creation of any and all appropriate transportation/customs required documentation and/or data in hard copy or required electronic format for level IV and VI information.
• Create and transfer data to appropriate activities for modal manifest requirements using MDSS II or other systems as appropriate.
• Create all MARCORLOGCOM related JOPES Newsgroups.
• Monitor all JOPES Newsgroups and respond as required.
• Produce and affix all Automated Information Technology (AIT) according to DOD and service regulations.
• Functional knowledge of JOPES, JFRG II, MDSSII, IBS, SMS, Mozilla Thunderbird Newsgroups, ICCLEAR, IGC, and ICODES applications.

Requirements

Successful candidates must possess:

• Full understanding and be able to articulate Marine Corps logistics processes, functions and operations with an emphasis on supply, warehousing, distribution, transportation and maintenance including but not limited to:
  • Global Combat Support System Marine Corps (GCSS MC)
  • Joint Container Management (JCM)
  • Automated Manifest System-TACTICAL II (AMS-TAC II)
  • Integrated Data Environment/ Global Transportation Network Convergence (IGC)
  • Joint Operation Planning and Execution Systems (JOPES)
  • MAGTF Deployment Support System II (MDSS II)
  • Defense Transportation Regulations
  • MS Office Business Suite
  • Single Mobility System (SMS)
  • Integrated Booking System (IBS)
  • Joint Force Requirement Generator (JFRG II)
  • Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance
• Ability to pass an Arms, Ammunitions and Explosives Medical Screening
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
