Logistics Analyst / Alternate Project Lead - ERDT
The Logistics Analyst solves problems to support Marine Corps Logistics Command (MCLC) senior leaders. In a command operations center environment collects data, performs transportation, distribution, maintenance, statistical and mapping analysis, designs customized solutions and works with a team and MCLC staff to develop and implement processes and procedures supporting MCLC Fwd's emerging requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
-Provide direct support to the ERDT Project Lead and act for the contractor when the Project Lead is absent.
-The Alternate Project Lead shall have full authority to act for the contractor on all matters relating to daily operations of the contract in the Project Leads absence.
-Analyze existing Logistics processes and supporting systems, to include supporting business and management processes/policies and provide recommended courses of actions on improvement (GCSS-MC, LSCO/LFSRG).
-Develop metrics and reporting capabilities in addition to trend analyses and prepare reports on the performance of the LSCO/LFSRG and GCSS-MC.
-Develop and participate in functional GCSS-MC sustainment strategies, DoD mandates, release schedules, system modification requirements, execution time frames, and production time frames.
-Develop and provide briefings, documents and other communication relating to LSCO/LFSRG for executive or senior management staff.
-Organize and facilitate integrated product team (IPT) meetings to include the development of agenda items, the recording and tracking of action items and the generation of IPT status reports.
-Provide accurate and timely reports following a published schedule of deadlines.
-Provide general consulting, problem assessment, analysis, proposed solutions and development of processes, tools and strategies geared toward GCSS-MC and logistics business process improvements.
-Perform functional and System gap analysis of current processes and provide recommendations on improvements.
-Work with customers, as required to analyze performance issues and determine problem resolution.
-Works effectively as a team member accomplishing assigned goals -Ensures solutions provide cost savings while optimizing operational effectiveness.
-Meet customer deadlines by providing required reports, analysis or implementations
-Develops understanding of customer needs and takes actions to ensure such needs are met -Able to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problem, and work with appropriate subject matter experts until resolved under guidance of MCLC staff
-Other projects and tasks as assigned or required for successful mission accomplishment
Qualifications :
-5-10 years comparable experience designing, developing, implementing and executing logistics management solutions
-Bachelors degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or other quantitative discipline desired
-Fundamental understanding of supply chain and logistics concepts preferred
-Ability to analyze data and conduct extensive research
-Effective communication skills both written and verbal, with internal and external customers.
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required
- Must have a working knowledge of COGNOS, SASSY, MIMMS, GCSS-MC, Oracle Discovery Reports Writer, Oracle Discovery Reports User, Microsoft Office suite and VISIO as a minimum software requirement.
Position requires a SECRET (or NACLC).
