License Examiner/Instructor - Fort Gordon

Under general supervision provides individual and classroom instruction.  Initiates a variety of tests to determine operator proficiency for wheeled, track, and passenger vehicles and material handling equipment (MHE) which may include the issuance of licenses. 

Duties:

• Conducts Physical Characteristics Training, Testing, Operator Maintenance Testing, and Road/Off-Road Testing.
• Operates a Bus Driver Training, Testing and Licensing Program.
• Establishes and utilizes a road test route, approved by the Government, that meets requirements for skills demonstration for a broad range of vehicles and equipment.
• Communicates test results and, when an applicant has failed to pass the test, discusses areas of deficiency explaining what is needed to meet requirements.
• Upon successful test results, prepares and issues Government operator permits and if applicable, Operator's Qualification Record. Maintains a control ledger of all licenses and/or permits issued.  Provides test results to servicing personnel offices as needed and/or requested.
• Maintains a roster of tests and appointments for test.
• Responsible for ordering, storing, securing, and inventorying controlled test documents and forms.
• Maintains work production records and prepares standard reports. Provides reports to the Contracting Officer or her designated representative.
• Reports any and all deficiencies discovered on vehicles and/or MHE during testing to the Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) Supervisor.
• Verifies FGLSP contractor vehicle/equipment operators are properly licensed.
• Enforces safe operation and maintenance of vehicles and MHE to all applicants during training and testing.  
• Observes performance of driving and/or operating skills for wheeled, track, and passenger vehicles as well as MHE.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
