Production Controller

This position compiles and records production data for industrial establishments to compare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of material, quality control, and other aspects of production. This position will provide detailed maintenance and repair planning, instructions prescribing maintenance actions required for assets undergoing receipt, in stores being prepped for shipment.  Production Controller will monitor assets undergoing maintenance, review the reports generated by the quality assurance/control and equipment repairers/mechanics and ensure the information is blended into a meaningful report.  This position also will monitor stock levels of materials and parts required to support the preservation and packing function. They use historical usage and projections of upcoming shipments and any other known situations when making their determination of requirements and prior to placing the order for those materials and parts. This constant monitoring of on-hand assets and knowledge of recurring and emerging requirements ensures we maintain sufficient material on hand for the preservation, packaging, and packing requirements.

Duties

• Prepare detailed planning, control and instructions prescribing the actions for maintenance and repair of tactical equipment/principle end items (PEI's), components of the PEI's and accessories
• Collect and collate data relating to the maintenance, and repair of items by utilizing his/her knowledge of the tactical equipment maintenance field and by researching reference source material for processing commodities, supplies and equipment
• Determine and order materials and parts required to support the preservation and packing function, keeping required materials on hand to avoid work stoppage.
• Review and prioritize work requests, shipping documents, material releases for special instructions such as required delivery dates, lot and contract number, special handling, destination and type of storage or shipment
• Prepare daily production reports
• Compile and record production data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed recording procedures and using different word processing techniques
• Calculate types and quantities of items produced, materials used, amount of scrap, frequency of defects, and worker and department production rates, using a computer, calculator, and/or spreadsheets
• Write production reports based on data compiled, tabulated and computed, following prescribed formats, maintaining files of documents used and prepared, compiling detailed production sheets or work tickets for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of products
• Prepare written work schedules based on established guidelines and priorities
• Compile material inventory records
• Prepare requisitions for procurement of materials and supplies charts production using chart, graph, or pegboard based on statistics compiled for reference by production and management personnel
• Sort and distribute work tickets or material and may compute wages from employee time cards and post wage data on records used for preparation of payroll.

Requirements

Successful candidates must possess:

• Prior experience in a logistics production facility
• Familiar with military databases (i.e., JPAS, GCSS-MC, FedLog, etc.)
• Familiar with the Microsoft Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
• Current USG Operator license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
• Willing to work occasional overtime to include weekends
