ILDS Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator 2020

• The Heavy Equipment Operator operates heavy equipment such as cranes, clamshells, power shovels, motor graders, heavy loaders, carryalls, bulldozers, rollers, scrapers, large industrial tractors with pan or scrapper attachments and various military vehicles. May read and interpret grade and slope stakes and simple plans, and may grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment

  Duties

  • Grease, adjust and make emergency repairs to equipment
  • Maintain a tactical license for all variants of Marine Corps ground equipment
  • Remain up to date on all licensing and attend training for new acquisitions
  • Operate equipment including heavy duty tow tractors, front-end loaders, front-end forks, high capacity forklifts, and container handlers
  • Conduct limited technical inspection of vehicles before, during, and after operations
  • Perform large tactical equipment movement and staging projects in an industrial setting
  • Perform operator maintenance on all equipment operated
  • Maintain equipment records and document maintenance actions
  • Operate tractor trailer to transport containerized material and equipment based on regular assigned schedule
  • Complete required forms and submits to customer for action
  • May support loading and proper securing of cargo and ensure proper load balancing and adequate protection of breakable items

   

  Requirements

  Successful candidates must possess:

  • Prior experience operating heavy mobile equipment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Current CDL (3) license
  • Current OSHA 25K Forklift and Mule train certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
  • Willing to work occasional overtime to include weekends
