Electronics Technician III - Fort Gordon

Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.

Duties:

• Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, or foreman, and work is reviewed for specific compliance with accepted practices and work assignments.
• May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Accounts for time labor codes and repair parts used on work request. 
• Estimates manhours for completion of each work request. Accounts for assigned tools and test equipment.  Maintains daily time sheets and makes entries into computer cards. 
• Practices good housekeeping in assigned work area; observes safety, security and fire prevention rules and regulations. Coordinates with and advises foreman/manager Technician of maintenance status, progress, problems, equipment requirements, logistics delays and corrective actions. 
• May not work above job classification without approval of foreman or manager.

Requirements:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
• Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
