About the Position

The Security Specialist analyzes, plans, advises, operates, or evaluates the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting classified information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Duties involve program planning, program evaluation, identifying and resolving security related issues, and advising organizational leadership on appropriate Physical Security, Operational Security (OPSEC) and Antiterrorism/ Force Protection (AT/FP) measures.  Duties also include developing, evaluating, maintaining, and/or operating systems, policies, devices, procedures, and methods used for safeguarding information, property, personnel, operations, and materials; and/or developing and implementing policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites.  The Security Specialist will report to Alt/Site Managers, and management.

Responsibilities

• Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process.
• Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/Job Breakdown sheets (JBS), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards.
• Adhere to Government and Company policies and procedures.
• Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management and CGA regarding operations and policies at the Distribution Center.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, Storage Plan and workload requirements.

Prerequisites

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• S. Citizen
• Valid Driver's License
• Fluent speaking, writing, and reading in English

Proclivities

• Military or DLA Distribution experience
