The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management.
Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk performs one or more accounting tasks such as; posting to registers and ledgers; balancing and reconciling accounts; verifying the internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents. In addition, tasks include; assigning prescribed accounting distribution codes; examining and verifying the clerical accuracy of various types of reports, lists, calculations, and postings. This position is responsible for preparing journal vouchers; making entries of adjustments to accounts; and working with spreadsheets. Level I requires a basic knowledge of routine clerical methods, office practices and procedures as they relate to the clerical processing and recording of transactions. Levels II and III require a knowledge and understanding of the established and standardized bookkeeping and accounting procedures and techniques used in an accounting system, or a segment of an accounting system where there are few variations in the types of transactions handled. In addition, most jobs at each level will require a basic knowledge and understanding of the terminology, codes, and processes used in an automated accounting system. (SCA 01010)
The Accounting Clerk III maintains journals or subsidiary ledgers of an accounting system and balances and reconciles accounts. Typical duties include one or both of the following: 1.) reviewing invoices and statements verifying information, ensuring sufficient funds have been obligated, and if questionable, resolving with the submitting unit determining accounts involved. The review will include coding transactions, and processing material through data processing for application in the accounting system; 2.) analysis and reconciliation of computer printouts with operating unit reports (contacting units, researching causes of discrepancies, and taking action to ensure that accounts balance). Supervisor provides suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions. Conformance with requirements and technical soundness of completed work are reviewed by the supervisor, or are controlled by mechanisms built into the accounting processes. (SCA 01013)
Essential Functions:

•Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area / process.
•Understand and use the Government provided Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
•Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards, etc.
•Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas / process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals.
•Adhere to government, contract, and company policies and procedures.
•Responsive communication to the Compliance Team (Inventory, Customer Service, and Quality Control) regarding any system discrepancies that cannot be resolved.
•Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
•Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management, corporate HR and CGA regarding operations and policies.
•Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
•Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, Storage Plan, and workload requirements.
•Adhere to PTi quality, safety, and environmental standards
Qualifications
Experience:
•Experience using the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•Data entry and word-processing (typing) experience
Skills:
•Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing the English language
•Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively.
Certificate, License, Registration, etc.:
•Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required.
•Successful completion of WMS training, OSHA compliance, and DLA SOP training as required
•Completion of company mandated training applicable to position.
Education
•Minimum high school diploma or GED
