Distribution Management Specialists perform technical distribution management duties pertaining to movement of military personnel and gear using any or all modes of transportation.  This position works with receiving, shipping, in-transit visibility and distribution functions.



  • Conduct container management to include receipt, issue and inspection.
  • Perform container manual updates within Joint Container Management (JCM) System.
  • Be familiar with practicable application and usage of DA-2404 container inspection form, DD 1149 and DD 1348 transportation forms.
  • Logistics support to include but not limited to stenciling new container labels, decals, and or data plates.
  • The annual container inventory will be conducted during the 4th Quarter of the fiscal year with the results furnished to MFSC HQ.
  • Prepare recommendation updates to the USTRANSCOM - managed Joint Container Management (JCM).
  • Support technical management encompassing inventory management.
  • Provide oversight of container inspection and recertification.
  • Maintain databases, using standard database programs such as MS Access, Excel, and Oracle, to provide distribution reports, analyses, and other relevant information to assist with distribution decisions.
  • Produce and place RFID Tags and Military Shipping Labels on any assets being processed for movement and released into the Defense Transportation System (DTS) in compliance with MARCORLOGCOM and local guidance, orders and policies. Utilize the DoD ITV RFID system in compliance with MARCORLOGCOM and local regulations, orders and policies.
  • Analyze supply and transportation data to provide metrics on process and transportation time-lines.
  • Monitor all applicable cargo movements with ITV (AMS-TAC II) through all modes of transportation from origin to destination to determine the effectiveness of contracted transportation in meeting the Defense Transportation Time-line.



Successful candidates must possess:

  • Full understanding and be able to articulate Marine Corps logistics processes, functions and operations with an emphasis on supply, warehousing, distribution, transportation and maintenance including but not limited to:
    • Global Combat Support System Marine Corps (GCSS MC)
    • Joint Container Management (JCM)
    • Automated Manifest System-TACTICAL II (AMS-TAC II)
    • Integrated Data Environment/ Global Transportation Network Convergence (IGC)
    • Joint Operation Planning and Execution Systems (JOPES)
    • MAGTF Deployment Support System II (MDSS II)
    • Defense Transportation Regulations
    • MS Office Business Suite
    • Single Mobility System (SMS)
    • Integrated Booking System (IBS)
    • Joint Force Requirement Generator (JFRG II)
    • Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable security investigation in order to be issued a Common Access Card
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level clearance
  • Ability to pass an Arms, Ammunitions and Explosives Medical Screening
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Fluency in English and be able to communicate effectively to include speaking and writing in English
  • Ability to be present at work each day and work the hours of the assigned shift
